 Where it all began

~ Or , How Did I Get Here ?!?

From my introduction into this great wide world I have been immersed in a world of creativity.  The environment God planted me in was one of artisans and craftspeople.  I was surrounded with woodcrafters and builders; embroiderers, crocheters, knitters and seamstresses; painters of walls and painters of canvasses.  There were even musicians tossed into the mix . . . and bakers . . . and cooks that could challenge many a five star chef.

Yes - it was the 60's and the 70's, but it wasn't nearly as bohemian as it sounds.  We were farmers and do-it-yourselfers, inheriting generations of skills simply by virtue of DNA.  And if living in all this creativity inspired you to explore yet another craft, encouragement ala Barbara - aka mom, smiled upon you dissolving doubt and propelling you forward.  Whether you reached genious status or it made your NEVER TO BE SPOKEN OF AGAIN  list, you had at minimum invested in your personal journey of self discovery.

The opportunity to learn and respect such a variety of multi-generationally taught needlearts could only be topped by having THE MOM  who was steeped in patience and filled with a true love for sharing her talents with her family.  It was at the hands of this very capable seamstress and painter that my talent developed and love grew for sewing, art and decor.

Very  early on I began personalizing everything - from clothes to pillows to walls to art.  Whether it was customizing by fit, blending unexpected fabrics or combining techniques, my projects reflected my personality.  Soon I was adapting my skills to create items for family and friends, and with each project, increasing my abilities along the way.  Designing my wedding gown became the catalyst to extend my sewing abilities into a career.

Professionally   my   abilities   continually   develop   in   customizing client projects. The opportunity to create something with client personality wrapped into it is one of the things I love most about my work.

Embracing life offers growth in more ways than we can ever imagine.  Sharing my talents with others is a joyful process that has no boundaries, and   I am blessed   from each experience.  I hope you will be as well.
